| This is a guide for admins exprerienced and noob for teaching and improving ability to spot autobots on our clan servers. we all hate autobotters on our servers theres no questioning that, but dont assume someone is autobotting just because they are kicking your ass, ALWAYS make sure they are using one of the following steps i will outline shortly, some botters will require you to use all your knowledge to spot em, others will be caugt out by using just one or 2 steps...so here goes. first thing i always do when i THINK someone is autobotting is to check their accuracy against their ping, generally people with oldskool bots will have accuracies ranging from 20% up to about 35-45% depending on ping 20% would be around 200ms and up 40%+ is only really reachable with very good ping of 100ms or less, always give the person a chance to get some kills under their belt before checking this since anyone can get kick ass accuracy with 5 kills, i tend to wait till they have 30-50 kills (that way you know their either good or using an illegal bot).
If you still think someone is using an illegal bot after considering the above information, take a nice trip into spectator mode (for the noobs, join spec's and type /follow <name> into console to save clicking ur way through all the players) in spec youll obviously be looking for the trademark 360 fov of autobots, the pros wont be using 360fov so dont just assume that cause theyre not shooting 360 degrees then theyre not autobotting. In spec you will also be looking for really fast target jumping, which is obviously, the crosshair jumping from one enemy to another oldskool bots in a very short distance around the crosshair whereas autobots will do it within whatever fov the player has his/her bot set to.
Next theres the enemy recognition which for most ppl is easy to spot, autobots will ALWAYS shoot at enemies wearing stolen uniforms, some elite oldskool botters inject a second bot to cover their own team so that they can use a bot to aim at coverts however kills arent so frequent because this requires good instincts and knowledge of how ppl play the game.
If after considering all evidence you are still unsure of someone, try asking them this sequence of questions: what bot? (the normal question), what key do you use to open the bot menu (oldskool bot menus are as follows n7: Alt Z ice: shift G one or 2 ice versions is shift B Iprokka: shift B skullcrusher:shift G GlHook: shift F) autobots are: mostly F9 or insert i cant be specific as im not an autobotter.
this is what i know so far hope this helps.

This is specifically for ETH32 autobot since it was the bot-of-choice for me back when i used to autobot.
**A weird feature about this bot is that you cannot manually rapid fire (holding the mouse down and shoot), it will only shoot one bullet at a time if there are no targets detected.
**This may apply to other autobots, the auto crouch feature, the easiest way to spot this is by looking at when targets are spotted for a split second and they will also crouch once really quickly. Of course this can also be one of the VC scripts which also provides this feature. So it is not a definitive way to spot an auto.
**There is also a very accurate humanized feature on this bot, usually if set properly, it will provide the autobotter with +50% acc while still look very humanized.
**A comment on the target jumping. Yes fast target jumping may point to an autobot, but GlHook, with its unusually large FOV may also look like fast target jumping. The key to spotting autobot with this one is to look at if the aimer locks-on to targets until they die, they usually don't gib the targets though.
**During spawn camping, you'll see the spawners with immunities for a few seconds from the spawn points, and autobots will never ever shot at these targets.

Theres always the autobots spam's to look out for and the "cfg loaded" msg, [ie. the spam], and of course the scope walking is one of the BIGGEST signs of an auto but if they are crouching they can move with scope or if their standing they can take 1 or 2 steps at a time. | |
